Liberty For All Is the Effort Thor Halvorssen Is All About

Friday, September 30th, 2016

When it comes to liberty for all, Thor Halvorssen is following in his ancestors’ footsteps, who have for centuries also rooted for the freedom that comes from liberation of people from tyrannical and now despotic dictatorial power of an out-of-control democratic socialist Venezuelan government that is anything but democratic. He compares his country’s current government to that of North Korea.

Øystein, his grandfather advised the former King of Venezuela, when a crisis erupted at the start of World War II and the Norwegian Merchant Marine fleet needed a safe and secure place to be kept. During the war, old Øystein even got in physical combat with some Nazis after they invaded Venezuela. Thor’s mother is the great-great-great-granddaughter of Cristóbal Mendoza, the very first of Venezuela’s Presidents.

Thor is also a relation of “The Liberator“, that is Simón Bolívar. He was the military man and renowned statesman who liberated Venezuela from Spain, way back when. Thor’s family has also paid for their stance for freedom.

In the early 1990s, evil security forces from the government abducted Thor’s own father, tortured him, and illegally imprisoned him for years. His own mother was shot by the same “security forces” while she was attending a peaceful meeting held in public. She barely survived, along with 10 other victims of the shooting. One person was killed.

These incidents have crystallized the strength of Halvorssen’s resolve in his constant philanthropy for the true freedom of democratic socialism. Thor Halvorssen points to the Scandinavian countries of Northern Europe as great examples of true democratic socialism.

Avi Weisfogel works to help sleep apnea sufferers

Saturday, September 17th, 2016

Sleep apnea is a terrible disorder. Sufferers can wake up thirty times a night, and not get real rest for years. Researchers estimate that 90 percent of sleep apnea sufferers are undiagnosed. There’s burgeoning research, moreover, that sleep apnea leads to other disorders, like diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

At present, there are few life-altering treatments for sleep apnea. That’s where Dr. Avi Weisfogel steps in. He’s founded Dental Sleep Masters, a company that seeks a cure for the condition through a dental perspective.

Weisfogel’s company has launched a new model for primary-care and secondary-care doctors, in which they can work together to find treatments for sleep apnea sufferers. The company sees dentists as an undervalued resources that can provide sleep apnea relief. Dentists can apply devices to patients mouths and noses that stimulate their airway passages to open, which would lead to less overnight wake ups.

While patients haven’t head much luck with devices developed in the past, a few recently developed devices shows promise. These devises are user-friendly as they are small and implantable. They also don’t make much noise and don’t require the users to wear uncomfortable masks. Among these devices is the THN sleep therapy device, developed by ImThera Medical. The FDA recently approved the device for clinical trials.

Under Weisfogel’s vision, doctors and dentists work together to treat patients more effectively. What’s more, by attracting people who haven’t sought treatment, doctors and dentists can grow their practices.

Dr Weisfogel has a deep understanding of sleep disorders and dentistry. He opened Old Bridge Dental Care in 1999 and managed the office for 15 years. His office became very popular and lead to him winning awards, such as Best Dentist, multiple times. While operating Old Bridge Dental Care, he also researched sleeping disorders and how doctors and dentists could work together to solve sleep problems.

He founded Dental Sleep Masters in 2014 to help dentists become more involved with sleep disorders and promote oral devices which can greatly help patients. Avi graduated from Rutgers with a bachelors degree in biology and psychology, and received his dental degree from New York University’s College of Dentistry.

About Securus Technologies

Established in 1989, Securus Technologies is the world leading provider of technological solutions for criminal and civil justice. Its headquarters are based in Dallas, Texas. Currently, the company has an estimate of 1,000 employees and has contracted with more than 2,600 correctional facilities.

The company is highly committed to providing quality services to their customers. This is evidenced by the recent announcement to introduce Inmates and grievance, an application available on ConnectUs. This is a clear indication about how the company is striving to update their consumers with the most efficient and latest technologies. For instance, paper forms have been widely used in correctional facilities by inmates to address their requests including complaints, registration forms, and medical reports. This method has proved to be time-consuming as the correctional officers spend a lot of time filling, storing and duplicating the forms.

With the implemented software, customized forms can be readily formulated for various requests and availed to inmates. Additionally, it does not involve printing and takes less time when you want to change a form. The application has brought a transformation from manual input to digital automation. Averagely, 13.8 forms are automated and processed by Securus per month for every inmate allowing correctional officers to concentrate on safety. Apart from being the easiest to implement, the ConnectUs Inmate Forms and Grievances software also benefit the inmates by allowing self-service access and the ability to view the status of the forms where they can appeal or accept them. It will also help reduce expenditure as the paper cost will be minimized.

The new platform not only gives inmates facilities and services never experienced before but also offers full control on what they can access and when. It also ensures that full control is exercised by the correctional facilities on the content accessed by the inmates.

Brad Reifler Debuts Brand New Investment Trust

Friday, September 2nd, 2016

Brad Reifler was featured in an article in Yahoo! Finance and gave some insight into investing for the middle class. Reifler has a message for the 99%. His message is, in essence, “not to fret”. Reifler, the CEO of Forefront Capital, a company he has led to great success wants members of the middle class to explore valuable paths to making their money work for them. His previous tenure as a top executive with such companies a Pali Capital show he knows what he is talking about regarding the subject of investing and making money work.

Reifler also is quick to suggest people who are non-accredited investors – those whose liquid assets are well below $1 million – are locked out of certain paths for their money. A mixed blessing exists here. Certain vehicles are supremely risky, but the risks come with the chances of a grand reward: high interest payments.

Through his current company, Forefront Capital, Reifler has even devised a special savings program called the Forefront Income Trust. The fund could be a solid vehicle for those looking to diversify their portfolio beyond the stock market. Brad Reifler has consistently noted putting all of one’s funds in the stock market may be a weak decision.

Interestingly, no fees are charged to the investor until he or she makes an 8% return. This alone makes the trust worth looking into.

No one would suggest the investment vehicles open to accredited investors come without risks. One reason investments are limited to these members of the 1% is they can absorb the losses if the vehicle turns out to be a proverbial bust. The flipside to this point is the investment have the potential to massively beat the stock markets and the banks as far as returns go. Someone who invests $100,000 and receives an 11% return per year for 7 years has made off like a proverbial bandit. Sadly, those with lesser means cannot even put a collective $1,000 into such venture. 11% on $1,000 for many years would be far better than receiving 0.75% on a certificate of deposit.
