About

Welcome to Ableton Denver!

Let’s get you familiar with the site.

Privacy and Legal information is located here. In short, be a good person and you need to have rights to anything that is published on this site (audio and text).

Site features:

Open registration allows anyone can join and enjoy the benefits.  As time goes on we may need to change how this works. Our primary concern is bandwidth! Our beta launch provides a few GB’s of storage and a good chunk of bandwidth. Once this starts to cause problems with our host we will:

  • Look at user habits and usage and make decisions on what our next steps will be…
  • Move to could storage (the site was programmed with this in mind)

In short, if you want a file, get it. Do not consider us your hard drive in the sky, in other words – store your downloads locally! That will help slow down our need to migrate and incur unnecessary expense.

License Information:

Our default license is the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 United States, for more information please visit this link http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/us/. If you would like to use a different license you may include that information with any file upload.

For more information on license options, what they mean, and other important information please read visit this page.

Ableton Denver Resources:

For quite some time Marc has been gathering contacts, resources, and permissions to include feeds and other external information services on site.  These are accessed towards the top-right of the site.  Craig’s List (musical instruments in Denver), Gear Junkies, some Twitter feeds, some reputable retailers, and other news and information sources are included. We would like Ableton Denver to be a one stop information shop. Enjoy and feel free to contact us and suggest new news feeds

Content:

If you are interested in writing content, an article series, or providing information to our site contact us and we will either publish your content or raise your permissions to be able to post on site.

File Sharing:

We have been discussing file sharing for a while.  We have so many talented people involved, each who play many instruments and have great studio talents.  Consider this your place to share files.  It is always a good rule of thumb to give as much as you take.  Additionally, please respect the licenses that are attached with any new work.

Transformative Works:

This is one of the key distinctions in escaping copyright violations. In short, please do not post others intellectual property with out permission.  If you see something that could cause problems please notify us.

About the Website

This site is built on Wordpress. Wordpress is an amazing open source blogging platform. The additional abilities available on this site stem from the E-Commerce work of Marc and Interzone. This site is specifically a side project of Data Mafia, the freelance arm of Marc.  This code set originally appeared at JazzAlt, a host for various private projects. JazzAlt will be diminishing in preference of the more robust build found on this site.

The programming, code, and concepts of Ableton Denver beyond the Wordpress source is not open source and is not scheduled for any distribution.  This source is a revision of an originally freestanding concept initially executed on the JazzAlt site.  Despite the closed nature of the additional source, variants are available on a ‘for hire’ basis.

If the overwhelming complexity of this application was not such a tremendous issue this site would be distributed as an open source project or a Wordpres plugin.  Any developers who would like to collaborate on this endeavor please contact Marc at adletondenver [dot] com [at] flasealert [dot] com.
