Lawrence Bender Raises Public Awareness of Global Warming with An Inconvenient Truth

Monday, April 9th, 2018

Lawrence Bender is widely known for his role in producing some of the most popular films of all time, including Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs and Kill Bill. While all of these films are fantastic for their entertainment value and contributions to modern cinema, one of the most important contributions that Lawrence Bender has made in the way of film production has been in his role in bringing An Inconvenient Truth to the screen. It is very rare that a film so educational and politically charged makes it as a major hit at the Box Office. Lawrence Bender was able to convey a compelling story of global destruction to the average viewer and sell an impressive amount of movie tickets at the same time.

An Inconvenient Truth debuted at the Box Office in 2006 and received some of the highest reviews and ratings of any documentary film. The film features Al Gore on a lecture tour across the country to speak out against the dangers of global warming and educate audiences on the immediate need to reverse the harmful impact that human development has taken on the planet. When audiences walk away after viewing this film, they leave inspired that a high-quality production is capable of making a lasting change in the world. What makes this film even more impressive is that it was produced in such a way that a slide show given in a science lecture captivated audiences for the entire length of the film and left them charged up to make a change.

Lawrence Bender has worked on a long list of equally amazing films, but he had not always planned on working in Hollywood. Growing up in New Jersey, he did not have family connections to Hollywood. He planned to become a civil engineer while studying at the University of Maine and even tried out a brief career in dancing. Lawrence Bender fell in love with the world of film while working odd jobs on movie sets, and the rest was history. He has earned three Oscar nominations so far and shows no signs of slowing down.
