The Exceptional Performance of OSI Group in the International Markets

The OSI Group is a firm that has successfully penetrated the global food and beverage sector for the past couple of years. It is well known for its delicious pizzas, sandwiches, vegetables, and sauces. The operations of the enterprise are managed from its main offices that are located in Aurora, Illinois. Vista has been running a vegetable processing factory since March 2012. The food processing company also operates businesses in Eastern Europe. It currently owns a processing plant in Poland, which distributes products to Poland, Sweden, Czech Republic, Finland, and Slovakia. OSI established a chicken processing plant in Hungary. The company invested $25 million in developing the plant, and its products are sold in 16 European countries.

The Illinois based company has made several acquisitions that have enabled it to penetrate the international market. The firm bought a southern Germany-based factory that is known as Flagship Europe. The business has specialized in dips, poultry, mayonnaise, and sauces. In 2016, OSI Group expanded its market in Europe by acquiring Baho Foods. The firm is made up of five major Germany and Netherlands-based factories that are called Bakx Foods, Q Smart Life, Vital Convenience, Bakx Foods, Henri van de Bilt, and Gelderland Frischwaren. In early 2017, the OSI Group expanded its supply in Germany by acquiring a food processing enterprise that is known as Hynek Schlachthof GmbH. The firm’s president, David McDonald, believes that it will establish more factories in future.

Scott Rocklage And His wife Are Celebrated At MIT’s Chemistry Department

MIT’s chemistry department celebrated Scott Rocklage and his wife, Patty Rocklage. This celebration follows the couples’ contributions that enabled the renovation of the department’s nanochemistry and nanotechnology lab space in Building 2. Lester Wolfe’s Professor of Chemistry, Moungi Bawendi, heads the lab.

For Scott, the donation was part of his appreciation for being an alumnus of MIT. He says that the quality of education that he received at the firm gave him a strong foundation in his professional life and career. Rocklage received his PhD from the MIT. He was one the students who studied at the chemistry department under the supervision of Professor Richard R. Schrock, a Nobel Prizewinner in Chemistry. Scott made the donations in partnership with his wife.

Scott and Patty took a tour of the renovated lab space with Professor Bawendi. After the tour, Bawendi, his two graduate students, Bawendi group members, and the faculty gathered in the lab’s vestibule where they unveiled a plaque honoring the Rocklages. Prof Moungi Bawendi, department head Timothy Jamison, and former department head Sylvia Ceyer paid tributes to the scientist and his wife. Scott thanked everyone in attendance. He said that he was honored to be recognized for his contribution to the institution.

Scott Rocklage is an entrepreneur and an expert in chemistry. He joined 5AM Ventures in 2003 as a venture partner. The company promoted him to serve as the managing partner in 2004. Dr. Rocklage is experienced in healthcare management. He has overseen FDA’s approval of Omniscan, Teslascan, and Cubicin.
