Monday, July 9th, 2018

Taking one step at a time and embracing growth is one of the things that has contributed to the growth and success of the famous music duo, the Chainsmokers. Alex Pall and Andrew Taggart started off as Djy’s; they have however managed to be on top list of the best musicians.

Alex Pall has always enjoyed music and since a young age has taken music as his hobby, changing his hobby to a career did not seem possible, but Alex stepped out of the box and was able to turn his hobby to a full-time career.

Andrew on the other hand also enjoyed music, while in college his colleagues made fun of his taste in music and despite this managed to stay strong. His style of music and dress code has emerged to be a favorite among many.

The two Alex Pall and Andrew Taggart met in an art gallery, at the time they both shared a manager, and the manager saw the potential they had as a group, and he introduced them. Weeks after their meeting. Alex and Andrew would meet up for coffee, and before they settled on becoming partners, they developed their friendship.

During the meeting, Alex and Drew discovered they had a lot in common, and this was a sign that working together would turn out a success. Alex Pall recently opened up on his journey in the music industry and gave insights on how they have managed to shine.

Both Alex and Drew have a background in Djying, this, therefore, makes the good producers, but they have identified their strengths and in the past few projects have worked closely with songwriters who would help them express how they felt.

Understanding what you can do, is very important in any business as it ensures one attains the very best and the chainsmokers have understood that expressing their feelings and allowing people to relate with their experience gives their music a personal touch.

The chainsmokers have become a global success and have recently been on tours to ensure they interact closely with their fans, and this has helped reach new listeners.

The Chainsmokers, Notated Verbalization

Tuesday, May 1st, 2018

Alex Pall and Andrew Taggart double team the renown and famously titled Chainsmokers which strategizes their musical direction towards breaking social norms of listeningbtovthe style that is so prevalent in todays culture. When writing about music it is unavoidable to not discuss how music shapes the cultures of the generations yet to come in the present and future periods of time. Since music has interweaved itself into the subconscious realms of the social functions of today one might ask what needs might need to be filled for the human void to be that much more satisfied. It is the Chainsmokers who discuss not just things that shape the culture around the individual people today but who also and more importantly talk about the culture that is prevalent and prevailing in society today. The Chainsmokers go above and beyond just providing entertainment as a commodity and luxury to the masses who want to tickle their eardrums with pleasant noises and they incorporate very real explanations on what is actually going on in todays current world as well to educate the younger generations of what it is they should be cognizant of instead of feeding out the junk so commonly discovered in musical sectors today. Their latest work Sick Boy for example describes and immerses in the engrossing details of pressure that occurs within the human brain when using social media sites. Narccissm has crept it’s way into the cracks of Facebook and Twitter to those who like to frequently check in on who likes what and who’s profile looks better than others. Although it was not the original intention of the founders of such business systems, the negative aspects of social circles have multiplied times ten in the areas which entail that performances and appearances equals one’s worth and self respect. Therefore, because of the obvious nature which permeates the circles of Facebook and Twitter, this provides an exact opportunity for The Chainsmokers to verbally elaborate on what is going on through their bold yet truthful and intelligent lyrics. Yes, this stems from their anger and frustration to keep to their values of real human connectedness despite the social norms of todays apparent use of technology.

Roc Nation in Talks with Universal Music Group over a Possible Lucrative Deal

Tuesday, June 27th, 2017

As the lucrative $150 million deal between Jay-Z and Live Nation nears the end, Jay is reaching out other music industry leaders to buy stakes in Roc Nation; Jay’s recorded music business. The landmark deal, popularly known as the “360 deal” was agreed in 2008 and will be coming to an end next year. As the deal nears the end, both partners may decide to either buy the company outright or sell their share in Roc Nation to one another. Check pagesix.com for additional article.

Although Live Nation wishes to continue working with Jay for many years, they are no longer interested in Jay’s recorded music. It is evident the lucrative 360 deal will not be extended. Although Live Nation had bought recorded music and artists’ rights, there are no plans for extending the contract with Jay. This is after Live Nation decided to quit the business of buying recorded music. Roc Nation has exclusive rights for artists including Meek Mill, Fat Joe, Shakira, Rihanna, and Jay.

Turning to Universal Music Group

Roc Nation’s executive Desiree Perez and Jay met with Sir with the chairman and CEO of Universal Music Group (UMG), Sir Lucian Grainge. After the meeting, it is rumored that UMG could sign a deal with Roc Nation. A deal with UMG would provide Jay with more resources to develop new talents and strengthen Tidal, which is facing tough competition from Spotify and Apple Music.

Sources within UMG suggest that there is a distribution deal with Roc Nation. Although the deal represents a small portion of Roc Nation’s artists, a bigger investment could see UMG own more shares at Roc Nation. Even though Jay, Live Nation, Roc Nation and UMG representatives didn’t comment on the issue, UMG insiders suggest that UMG is committed to working with Jay’s Roc Nation.

Tidal Streaming Music App is Making an Upward Turn

Wednesday, April 19th, 2017

If you have been waiting to see what happens with the Tidal streaming music app before you signed up, there is great news. Even though this app started out on rocky terrain, things are finally looking up financially, and by way of exclusive content!

Shawn Carter, known to the rap world by Jay-Z, founded this company himself after leaving the rap scene. He had some trouble getting the app off the ground and building enough of a fan base to keep it afloat, especially since he had trouble holding on to executives.

Desiree Perez, the wife of Juan Perez, head of Roc Nation Sports has taken the lead with the Tidal streaming music app. Since Roc Nation Sports has stake in the Tidal streaming music app, Desiree knew she had to jump in and taken an executive approach before the company landed in serious debt.  Check this on templeofthecave.com.

Perez owns her own successful business, and is well-known for her managerial skills, negotiation skills, and state-of-the-art accounting capabilities. She has worked with a lot of big names, including Beyonce, to book her stadium tours, and Rhianna, to land her deal with Samsung. She definitely has connections in the music industry and Tidal is the perfect place to take advantage of those connections.

Thanks to Perez, Tidal has landed some seriously strong contracts for album exclusives. The exclusives being released for the spring of 2017 include Beyonce, T.I., Rihanna, and Kanye West. For more updates from Perez, click on crunchbase.com.

Not only have they landed some multi-million dollar contracts, they have also brought in more than one million people to sign up as trial users since February. Of course these trial users will convert to long-term customers. At $9.99 per month, this will translate in to serious cash flow for the Tidal company.

Interestting story here.

The Future of Tidal

The future of Tidal is not certain, especially given the rumors that have been flying around. According to the multiple rumors, Jay-Z has been noted as saying that he would sell to a corporation if they brought enough money to the table.

Since Perez is quoted as saying “the company will be around for a long time to come,” the future seems to be a little up in the air right now. Check also billboard.com.
