Cassio Audi of Brazil

Saturday, January 19th, 2019

He may be an extremely successful businessman these days but in his youth, he was a wild rock-and-roller! That’s right, in case you did not know, Cassio Audi played drums for Brazilian heavy metal legends Viper back in their early days. In fact, recordings of his music are widely available for those who are interested.

Cassio Audi

Audi was the drummer during the formation of the band in Sao Paulo. His playing is featured on two of the band’s demo cassettes, entitled “The Killera Sword” and “Projeto SP Metal”. His playing helped the band sound so good that they were signed to Rock Brigade Records. This label released their official debut album “Soldiers of Sunrise”. This record achieved a good amount of press coverage from both the worldwide heavy metal press and fans alike. It has also been recognized through the eyes of time as one of the formative albums in the early history of Brazilian heavy metal.

Cassio Audi left the band in 1989 but his influence on the Brazilian metal scene and on the global metal scene, in general, cannot be understated. It may be that becoming a heavy metal drummer at such a young age and experiencing a modicum of success instilled the drive that has led to Cassio Audi to become successful in other avenues of life. It is a testimony that Cassio Audi has made such a mark on such widely divergent paths in life. For this, Brazil should be grateful.

Alex Pall’s Rise To Fame

Monday, December 3rd, 2018

Alex Pall started off his career as an inspiring DJ in New York. He started his career off as just a hobby, and later became serious about music as it had started to consume his life, giving it a real shot. His manager, Adam Alpert, knew his plans on wanting to accelerate more in DJing, so he introduced Pall to Andrew Taggert, thus creating the band now known as The Chainsmokers. They hit it off quickly, with their similar taste in musical styles. They were a match made in Heaven.

They started discussing their interests in music, what they listened to in their childhood, and also talked about their ambitions with music. With Pall’s experience in marketing and Taggert’s with producing, they were a force to be reckoned with. Taggart had moved from Maine and Pall quit his job and begin working together. They aren’t like most DJ’s, as they like to incorporate vocals in a lot of their songs. They wanted to find a way to stand apart from all the other Dj’s and artists who were doing the same thing, creating the same type of music.

Pall and Taggart like to write their own songs, using their life experiences and their emotional states. Their vision is to allow their fan base to connect with their music deeply. That is their goal and to not think of it as a way to pay the bills. They were extremely strategic in their sound, by not just sticking to electronic/dance genres, but to adding pop, hip-hop, and indie to the mix. Songs like “Roses”, Don’t Let Me Down” and “Closer” really expanded their career, hitting it big. They have become one of the most popular groups in America, by their own style. They truly have pushed their boundaries to their sound and it has done nothing but helped them successfully. Nothing can stop this dynamic duo of The Chainsmokers.

EDM-Pop Legends, The Chainsmokers, Shine on with Their Diamond Certification

Monday, December 3rd, 2018

Fans of Alex Pall and Andrew Taggart, also known in the EDM-Pop world as the dynamic duo The Chainsmokers, were thrilled to discover that the duet’s smash hit “Closer” had topped at least 10 million units delivered in the United States, giving their single a coveted diamond certification by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America). While the RIAA seemed slow to break the news themselves, both The Chainsmokers and Halsey (whose intense vocals are featured in the single as well) proudly shared pictures on their Instagram accounts, smiling and holding tightly onto their plaques which commemorate this momentous occasion. Previously, the RIAA had recognized the song’s seven-time platinum status back in March of 2017. However, since that time, this status has grown to a ten-time platinum single, a feat for which many musicians can only hope.

For a little over two years, “Closer” had continuously received praise and recognition on the dance music scene. First, in the later part of 2016’s summer, it rocketed to the top of the Hot 100. Then it later went on to become an addition to the list of songs tied for fourth place in endurance as the number one hit in the United States in all-genre singles. Grammy nominations for both The Chainsmokers and Halsey were received because of the single, and while they did not win these iconic honors, they did collect several other awards along the way. One of these accolades included that of Billboard’s longest-standing number one hit in the Hot Dance/Electronic genre up until recent months, when it was surpassed by the single “The Middle” by Zedd, Maren Morris, and Grey.

While The Chainsmokers were no strangers to having a single in the top 10 hits before releasing “Closer”, this was Hasley’s first time to branch out from her growing fanbase into the dance and EDM culture. Because of this great achievement, Hasley is now a household name.

GreenSky Tours and Records

Monday, October 22nd, 2018

Through a combination of hard work and creative talent, the members of GreenSky, the improvisational bluegrass band, have come a long way since their start in 2000 playing in living rooms and at open mic events in their hometown of Kalamazoo, Michigan. Today, they are playing some of the most legendary venues in the United States, including a performance at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado, and have gotten rave reviews for their jam-based performances from journalists at publications ranging from local newspapers to Rolling Stone Magazine.

The five member band has been on the road for roughly a decade and a half, and they are now realizing the fruits of their labors through becoming a headlining act. They have long been known for the energy of their live shows, which are a combination of traditional music and psychedelic jamming.

While labeled a bluegrass or traditional act, the band defies classification. GreenSky does not have a drummer, yet their shows are rowdy events where the audience joins in through singing and stomping their feet. While they are not a rock band, they perform with a full light show. GreenSky has a reverence for roots music, but they are hardly playing music that belongs in a museum; in fact, they’ve been known to run their dobro sound through an amplifier!

GreenSky fans have the loyalty of Deadheads, and they frequently travel for miles to catch the band live when they are in the area. Although GreenSky made their reputation as a live act, they’ve also done a number of highly acclaimed studio albums. They plan to release a new record, All For Money, in January of 2019 and then hit the road to promote it. As a treat to fans, behind-the-scenes video footage of the recording of the album will be released along with the music.

Andrew on the other hand also enjoyed music, while in college his colleagues made fun of his taste in music and despite this managed to stay strong. His style of music and dress code has emerged to be a favorite among many.

The Chainsmokers, Notated Verbalization

Tuesday, May 1st, 2018

Alex Pall and Andrew Taggart double team the renown and famously titled Chainsmokers which strategizes their musical direction towards breaking social norms of listeningbtovthe style that is so prevalent in todays culture. When writing about music it is unavoidable to not discuss how music shapes the cultures of the generations yet to come in the present and future periods of time. Since music has interweaved itself into the subconscious realms of the social functions of today one might ask what needs might need to be filled for the human void to be that much more satisfied. It is the Chainsmokers who discuss not just things that shape the culture around the individual people today but who also and more importantly talk about the culture that is prevalent and prevailing in society today. The Chainsmokers go above and beyond just providing entertainment as a commodity and luxury to the masses who want to tickle their eardrums with pleasant noises and they incorporate very real explanations on what is actually going on in todays current world as well to educate the younger generations of what it is they should be cognizant of instead of feeding out the junk so commonly discovered in musical sectors today. Their latest work Sick Boy for example describes and immerses in the engrossing details of pressure that occurs within the human brain when using social media sites. Narccissm has crept it’s way into the cracks of Facebook and Twitter to those who like to frequently check in on who likes what and who’s profile looks better than others. Although it was not the original intention of the founders of such business systems, the negative aspects of social circles have multiplied times ten in the areas which entail that performances and appearances equals one’s worth and self respect. Therefore, because of the obvious nature which permeates the circles of Facebook and Twitter, this provides an exact opportunity for The Chainsmokers to verbally elaborate on what is going on through their bold yet truthful and intelligent lyrics. Yes, this stems from their anger and frustration to keep to their values of real human connectedness despite the social norms of todays apparent use of technology.

Alex Pall and Andrew Taggart, The Chainsmokers, looking for new and exciting ways to appeal to their fans!

Tuesday, March 20th, 2018

Mathias Rosenzweig conducted an interview with the duo of Alex Pall and Andrew Taggart, who is more famously known as The Chainsmokers. Rosenzweig asked the duo various questions. Some of these questions included “How did you two start working together?”, “ What was it like working with Halsey on “Closer”?”, and “So in what ways are you changing the live show and it’s visuals to cater to your expanding audience?”.

Alex Pall was a young DJ, who was DJing around New York City. Andrew Taggart was in college and had also taken an interest in DJing. Alex Pall was looking for someone to fill the role as his partner in The Chainsmokers, and when the two met they hit it off.

The duo was very excited about working with an artist such as Halsey. Halsey was at the top of their list, in terms of artists they wanted to work with. She is featured on the song “Closer”, and the two are very excited about this song as they produced it and “Drew”, Andrew Taggart, is singing in it.

The two were then asked about their live show, and Alex Pall talked about how as their fan base is growing they must always be pushing themselves. He emphasized that they are always looking for new and exciting ways to bring their show. They spoke about their previous tour “#Selfie” and how they went around the entire world once. They mentioned that now with their song “Closer” coming out, and with “Drew” singing in it, they are looking to make the performance part of their show even more prevalent than it already was.

This interview conducted by Mathias Rosenzweig provides insight on the future plans of The Chainsmokers and shows that The Chainsmokers are far from complacency, and are always looking to do new and exciting things for their fans.

Chainsmokers More Than Just DJs

Friday, March 2nd, 2018

Alex Pall and Andrew Taggart never imagined their paths would cross. Especially since before a cold day in 2010 they never knew each other existed. Pall grew up in Westchester County, New York and Taggart grew up in Freeport, Maine. Their love for EDM and Pall’s manager would bring them together. (See: Chainsmokers on Beatport: The Chainsmokers)

Alex was working at an art gallery in New York while attending New York University and Taggart was in Maine at Syracuse University when chance brought them together. When they met they immediately went to work? Taggart left Maine to move to New York and Pall quit his job. Both having fully committed to making this thing work the re-formed Chainsmokers were born. In the beginning the duo made remixes of indie bands, learning their craft and how they wanted to be presented to the world as artist. Alex and Andrew worked out the kinks. From the very beginning they both took the decision they had made serious. They didn’t meet once a week or twice a month to work on their music. They would get together from sunup to sundown every day.

All of the hard work paid off and the two released their debut single “Selfie”. Eventually making its way to the top of the charts “Selfie” was only the start. The pair went on to release hit after hit; coming in second in 2017 only to Drake and Justin Bieber. Since hitting success with “Roses” and “Don’t Let Me Down,” The Chainsmokers has added a new dimension to their work with Taggart, one half of the duo, adding his singing to their crowd-rousing sound beginning with the single “Closer,” in which Halsey also performs.

The Chainsmokers have taken the entertainment world by storm. The two have collaborated with some of the top known names in the industry. In 2017 they were listed as the third top paid DJs in the world. They are now trying to bring everything that they have learned thus far and make it into a musical experience that surpasses anything else the listener has ever felt. The plan to do this is by simply being true to their life experiences and their audience. This is just the beginning and the best is yet to come. Go Here for additional information.
