Key Questions And Answers From Dr. Avi Weisfoge’s Interview With Ideamensch

The first question given to Avi Weisfogel in the interview was where did his idea to create a sleep disorder treatment business come from. Dr. Weisfogel said that he had always been interested in the treatment of sleep disorders such as sleep apnea and had a background in both medicine and psychology. Most sleep disorders have both a physical and psychological cause. Knowing the background of many of these diseases and having the medical licenses needed to treat them, Dr. Weisfogel said it was natural that he entered this field. Avi also said that when he started his sleep labs, there was relatively few people addressing these disorders and that he had hit a real niche market.

Dr. Weisfogel was later asked what was the worst job he had held in his life. His response was that it was being a dentist. Still, Avi Weisfogel took something positive from being a dentist. He learned more about sleep related disorders and it eventually led him to where he is today. His work as a dentist also allowed him to construct oral appliances that can alleviate sleep apnea. Although Avi did not like the job, he had gleaned something useful from it.
