George Soros is one of the best known liberal donors to political campaigns in the U.S. and has recently decided to get involved in the 2016 Presidential campaign. Former Secretary of State Hilary Clinton has been the beneficiary of the donations of George Soros after he made contact with the former First Lady and was impressed by the amount of access provided to him. Politico reports the hedge fund manager who is said to have broken the Bank of England in 1992 has now donated $8 million to the campaign to elect Clinton as the first female President of the U.S.
Forbes billionaire George Soros has been a major supporter of the many aspects of liberal politics that have inspired him to back politicians with monetary donations, and to create his own charitable Open Society Foundations. The former refugee has recently been calling for a more liberal approach to the migrant problems facing the world in the 21st century, and believes the former Secretary of State is the best qualified candidate for the position of President.
George Soros was one of the first to provide major funding for Super-PAC organizations created during the 2004 election cycle where the Democrats challenged the sitting President George W. Bush. The backing of the democratic candidate hit new levels in 2008 when George Soros provided financial support for the campaign of President Barrack Obama; this backing is now said to be something Soros regrets after he decided against providing backing for Clinton. In 2015, the Clinton campaign benefited from the generosity of George Soros when he divided $2 million between two different Super-PAC’s before providing a further $6 million to her main Super-PAC supporters. The return to backing the Democratic candidate for the Presidency comes after George Soros withdrew most of his support in 2012 after growing disillusioned with the leadership of President Obama.
